(Uncle) Don Youngs 62 x 365

First close person in my life who died, Uncle Don called me “Little Miss America”. (He had high expectations for my appearance). He was a short man who worked for the railroad and raised Dobermans. His love for me was genuine and he gave me a lasting gift: my name.

Note: Don is the one on the left - the shorter of the two. (the other man was abnormally tall)

Thanks. I found it in my mom's desk drawer - I love it too.

My uncle died when I was 6, a few days before my brother was born. He was really excited about the impending birth of my brother. Sometimes I wonder if my brother would have taken my place as a favorite had my uncle lived to see him.

It's a wonderful picture--and don't think about the what ifs!

Cedar: There are some who would think that the interval was appropriate for a reincarnation of your uncle—but you would have probably picked up on that.
