Fourth-grade teacher and cheerful fellow, Mr. Delpierre was the opposite of Ms Scher when it came to relating with adults. His unusual sense of humor sometimes scared students, but Clare found him warm and kind. After he married a student’s au pair they were featured on a House Hunters episode.

George, Tim ’s friend from Columbia, Maryland , must have often worn clothes that matched because I called him color-coordinated. He replied: everyone who lived in that planned community was color-coordinated – it was a rule. I now live about thirty minutes from Columbia and, still think of it as Color Coordinated Columbia.
