Alan 9 x 365

A kindergarten classmate who disappeared from my radar screen by second grade; short and intense Alan reappeared my promiscuous year. He resented tall men who dated short women and said short women should save themselves for short men. Our friendship didn’t last long. I wasn’t very nice to him. Sorry.

There's something about brutally honest posts that I absolutely adore. Is it that they can't help but ring true and therefore somewhat universal? Love this one on more than one level (pun possibly intended).

So, Cedar Waxwing, are you friends with Indigo Bunting? Makes me jealous that I didn't pick a bird name as an early adopter. Of course, House Finch doesn't quite have the same ring, though lovely little bird at my feeder.

I'm enjoying your posts--

No, Bridgett, Indigo Bunting and I only just met through x365. It seems as if we should know each other, however as she told me she's lived in my hometown, and near where I now live.

When I was searching for an online identity in the late 1990's I first tried chickadee, but that had been taken. I considered painted bunting, but was concerened that it would give the wrong impression. I also considered indigo bunting, but as birds, I didn't like them quite as much as I liked cedar waxwings, although they are much more beautiful.

Bridgett: House Finch is cool. So is Bridgett.

Cedar: I laughed at the painted bunting remark. I have been other bird identities elsewhere. My first siting of a cedar waxing is mentioned in my #67. And I need to spend more time at your blog when I get a breather. I didn't realize Elgin was your hometown per se, only that you at least had family from there...There was this donut shop I used to go to, I think on Dundee Avenue. Trying to remember the name of it...

Bridgett suits me just fine; the picture from when I'm 4 1/2 is enough of a pseudonym for now (my other blog is rather public and would be confusing if I were posing as another species)...

Cedar Waxing - this is totally off topic but I want to join in too.
Hey I'm from Chicago but never went to Elgin much.
I love to go home and eat. I mean really eat. Southerns, bless their hearts, don't have quite the same flair and passion for food, unless you consider Bojangles and Chik-Fila fine eats. Maybe it has something to do with the humidity.

I know what you mean IOS. I miss Italian Beef sandwiches. We cannot get those here and I really like them. My aunt gave me a recipe that is pretty good, but not perfect.
