Old man by the ferry in Ireland 187 x 365

As we walked the dark path to the youth hostel, a swaying light seemed to be getting closer. It was an old man with a lantern. He was pleased to meet Americans in Ireland and shook our hands repeating, "How do you do." It reminded me of the rhyme.

Would that be how do you do, and how do you do and how do you do again?

Yep, that's the nursery rhyme, Bridgett. My kids now say it whenever they wake up to a misty day. They go t it from me and I got it from Jack Burgoyne who would recite it to me when the morning was misty (which was a lot considering he lived close to the Yorkshire moors)
