Another Barbara 27 x 365

A flight attendant and cancer survivor, Barbara made frequent trips to Mexico to buy altar decorations for her church. I knew Barbara was very religious, but was even more certain when I saw the five-foot brightly colored Jesus next to her bed when I took care of her six cats.

ISn't it interesting when you get glimpses of aquaintances' lives without them there (house sitting, pet sitting, etc). A 5 foot tall Jesus statue next to the bed. Whoa.

No it was plastic or painted wood. I only saw it in passing and rushed back downstairs after seeing it. It felt wrong to have seen it. (and it was probably even more wrong writing about it here!)

My (twin) brothers-in-law, Danny and Dennis have been farming just outside Elgin, Illinois all their adult life. Before that their father farmed some of the same land . In less than two years most of the land they farm will become a subdivision for the rich. Their landlords are selling out.
