Mrs. Anderson 36 x 365

Mrs. Anderson was years ahead of her time. She tossed the basal readers and encouraged us to choose our own books long before the term “Whole Language” was coined. We immersed ourselves in the delicious words of L’Engle, Tolkein, Lewis, and Grahame for the whole of our sixth grade year.

Woo hoo! Go Mrs. Anderson! Teachers like that make the path a lot easier for those who follow.

Yes, Mrs. Anderson was a gem, and under appreciated. Other teachers though her teaching style odd. I think I am who I am today, partly because of Mrs. Anderson.
